Greg Holden, a longtime member of Hillside UMC, A great father , husband , and giving scout leader of Pack 994 and Troop 994 is in the hospital at Kennesaw and in very grave condition.
He recently had a cancerous kidney removed and now is having complications as his digestive system is failing. Please lift Greg up in prayer hourly and daily for healing and lift his wife Kristen and their 3 children up as well for comfort and peace as well as strength to get through this trying time in their lives. Also, visits to Kennesaw to pray with the family and for Greg are urged. Please remember the power of prayer and what our God is capable of, especially this Holy week when He showed us His ultimate healing power by conquering death! Be sure to pray these things in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
There are no small acts of compassion .....every compassionate act sets light in the world............
We have to be doing something right since our troop has once again grown with the latest round of Webelos crossing over to the troop.
We welcome the boys of the two new patrols. The Eagles and the Platypuses. Or is that Platypie? Hehe I don't know which it is.
These boys crossed on Feb. 20th at Camp Alatoona Aquatics Base, during a ceremony that was hosted by our local Order of the Arrow Chapter.
In other news I am finally back to doing my updates for the troop on this website. The BSA has finally put a youth position as webmaster into the mix. I have a likely candidate and will soon be working with them to help bring more information to you.
So in other happenings.
SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!
Wicked Awesome doesn't even begin to describe our latest trip to West Virginia.
We all wanted it but if you really wanted a lot of snow. West Virginia was the place to be. Our boys just returned from a Skiing trip that was nothing short of spectacular. The mountain was covered in snow and as reported by local residents, the best snow conditions are right here in West Virginia. Photos of the trip are up and online in our troop photo gallery. You must have a secure login to see the link that will get you there.
